    As a visiting fellow of the University of Oxford, I made two presentations in international conferences and discussed my research topics of Memory of the Sino-Japanese War and transmission of "Orphan of Zhao" with European researchers. I also joined actively in international workshops and talks to get careful grasp of the situation of China studies and Enlightenment studies in Europe. In order to develop international joint research, I conducted research exchanges with researchers of various fields, such as History, Modern Art, Anthropology and Women's History, then has planed panel presentation for international conferences and joint research in 3 themes. I also progressed article writing and published "Sensoukioku Wo Meguru Saikitekina Jikojissen: Oraruhisutori Wo Meguru Tasharikai to Jikorikai (Recursing Historical Practices Over War Memories: Others Understanding and Self-understanding in Oral History)" in the book "Paburikku Hisutori Nyumon (Introduction to Public History)".

    本年度は8月に第二子を出産したため、産前産後の身体状況の中で子育てをしつつ、可能な限りの研究活動を行った。 第一に、『世界』(2015年8月号)に執筆した「日中戦争における対日協力者の記憶」論文を大幅に加筆訂正し、英訳を行った。翻訳を年度内に終えるため、一部の訳と訳出部分の校閲を翻訳会社に依頼した。同英語論文は将来的に国際的な学会誌に投稿する予定である。 第二に、論文「社会主義中国における歴史実践―山西省農村部でのオーラルヒストリー調査を通して」を執筆した。年度内に執筆を終えられなかったため現在も執筆中である。同論文は記憶研究のために行ったオーラルヒストリーのインタビューを、農民たちの「歴史実践」として読み直すものであり、執筆を通して、中国山西省の農民が紡ぐミクロの口述史が多様な学問的可能性を有しており、今後新しい歴史学的な視点を吸収することで、その国際的で学際的な広がりを明確なものにしていけることを再確認した。 第三に、国際共同研究のための渡英準備を行った。2018年3月15日より英国オックスォード大学オリエンタル学科へ1年間の訪問研究を開始したが、事前に英語圏の歴史研究を吸収するための土台となり得る資料及び書籍を読み込んだ。その中で羽田正編著『グローバルヒストリーと東アジア史』は、英語、中国語、ドイツ語、そして日本語圏を包括する最前線の研究内容をまとめており、英語圏の歴史学を取り巻く問題や学問的な問いに触れることができた。また、近年邦訳されたヘイドン・ホワイト『実用的な過去』が論じるPractical Past（実用的な過去）は、物語が歴史性を有することに着目しており、口頭で伝えられる物語やお喋りが如何に記憶やコミュニティを作り出してきたかを問う本研究に新たな論理的視角をもたらすものとなった。

    In this survey, I investigated collective memory in rural villages of Shanxi China by oral history interviews, collecting short mnemonic rhythms spread mouth to mouth called Shunkouliu, in which I found reflections of common memories of Chinese ordinary people. As results: I wrote a paper about “Memory of Chinese Collaborators in The Anti-Japanese war". I also found communities of rain-making ritual and memory sharing where a same Shunkouliu is sung. Their rain-making ritual has its origin myth "Orphan of Zhao", which is well known in Shanxi province. I researched many types of "Orphan of Zhao" inherrited in each village and compared them with scripts of Jin and Jing opera and Story spreaded to UK and France in 18th century. These findings brings a new view point to think about community and historical connection between China and Europe.

    This study is aiming to answer the question of why Chinese postwar generation memorizes Sino-Japanese war as if it were their own experience. For this purpose, I combine the technique of field work with the concept of "Collective Memory". Traditional memory research often regarded the collective memory as the synonymous to national discourse, and did not pay attention to the process in which these social representation permeated a person. The field work was conducted in rural areas of Shanxi Province, which was the forefront of the war, focusing on post-war generations individuals. Through this Field work we re-think the "Collective Memory" from the perspective of the individual. individuals. I interviewed 195 people, and as a result, find many "shunkouliu"(well known and widely shared simple song about each incident), which reveal strong link between rural community and memory of individuals. Although the independent individual had been assumed after modernization, these individuals are based on the mechanism of interpenetration between self and the others, especially in the dimension such as memory. In rural communities, the boundary between an individual and community is ambiguous, memory and sense of value are shared in group, permeate each individual mutually.
