    Abstract Herein, the crystallization behavior of a Li2O–Al2O3–SiO2 (LAS) glass system with the addition of ZrO2 and SnO2 as nucleating agents was investigated using X‐ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, four‐dimensional scanning transmission electron microscopy, and X‐ray absorption fine‐structure measurements. At lower heat‐treatment temperatures, the addition of ZrO2 and SnO2 afforded a ZrSnO4 solid solution (SS), whereas at higher heat‐treatment temperatures, the ZrSnO4 SS decomposed, affording tetragonal ZrO2 and tetragonal SnO2. LAS‐based crystalline phases, such as β‐quartz and β‐spodumene phases SS, were formed after the formation of the ZrSnO4 SS. ZrSnO4 SS particles a few nanometers in size were present in contact with the β‐quartz SS particles a few dozen nanometers in size. This suggests that the ZrSnO4 SS served as a crystal nucleus for the β‐quartz SS, promoting its growth.

    本年度は申請者が新規に見出したLNO:Pr(LixNbO3:Pr)にフォーカスし、LNO 系材料を通じて高感度高効率応力弾性発光と圧電性両方を同時に有するマルチピエゾ機能解明を目的に、材料合成、構造解析、機能評価を進めた。また比較検証として、CaZnOS, SrAl2O4、Sr3Sn2O7系の検討を行っている。 まずはマルチピエゾ原理の解明を達成するために、非化学量論比と発光中心ドープ等により構造設計された結晶体、セラミックスバルク体、有機無機複合材料体をそれぞれ合成し、チーム内で共有し、構造解析と機能評価を進めた。 マルチピエゾ材料(LNO)について、非化学量論と元素置換による結晶制御と機能向上のアプローチした結果、Naを置換することにより、3つの結晶相が確認され、菱面体晶Na-R3cで強い応力発光を示すことが分かった。さらに、合成プロセス高度制御・非化学量論により、菱面体晶Na-R3cと斜方晶P21maの相境界付近では、応力発光強度が飛躍的に増強されることを突き止めた。多相境界での応力発光は非化学量論のLNOよりも10倍以上向上され、赤色発光は肉眼で簡単に確認できる。これらの発光は、通常の欠陥レベルにトラップされた電子を放出によるものだけでなく、構造相転移によって光を放出する新しいメカニズムの可能性が示唆された。同時に、圧電効果(圧電定数d33)は、応力発光強度と同様の傾向を示し、多相境界での圧電定数も10倍以上の向上が得られた。応力発光と圧電は相関性があることが実証された。これらの結果に基づき、結晶構造を制御することにより、マルチピエゾ機能を向上させることに成功し、今後は応力発光と圧電の相乗効果を明らかにするための有用なデータを取得できた。 研究発表では、MRS Best Poster Award、土木学会優秀講演賞、電子材料部会研究優秀賞、等の学会表彰を受けた。

    Polymer brush modification, in which polymer chains are densely immobilized on the surface of a substrate, is useful as a composite technology for materials because it improves the affinity of inorganic substrates with organic solvents and other polymers. In this study, we attempted to modify polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) brushes on the surface of Ba-Ti metal oxides and investigated the factors controlling the composite film with PVDF and the brush morphology. As a result, it was found that the PMMA modification on the particle surface was effective for the composite film formation with PVDF, and the brush morphology contributed to the particle dispersion in the composite film. Furthermore, it was suggested that the interfacial interaction between the substrate surface and the polymerization initiator was related to the control of the brush morphology.

    In this study, I aimed to detect organic gases in ppb level particularly cancer biomarker in expiration by introducing the new concept of the double receptors into the materials design of the semiconductor gas sensor which I proposed so far. There is two main results in this study. At first, it was found that when the perovskite type oxide particles were mixed with sensor material of SnO2, the oxygen released from the perovskite type oxide by pulse heating enhanced sensor response. Secondly, after optimizing pulse heating conditions, receptor-loaded cluster particles could detect toluene in ppt level. This result updated the world's best sensitivity of the semiconductor gas sensor.

    平成26年度は、①貴金属/ペロブスカイト共担持触媒, ②貴金属固溶ペロブスカイトの設計合成と機能開発、③ディーゼルパティキュレート除去用ペロブスカイト系触媒の3つの触媒系を対象とし、平成24年度および平成25年度に得られた成果を基に、貴金属低減のためのペロブスカイトの応用の可能性を明らかにするとともに本研究の総括を予定していたが、研究代表者急逝のため、以下を以って研究終了となった。 〔貴金属固溶ペロブスカイト触媒〕Sr_<2-x>La_xMnO_4とPd^<2+>とのイオン交換/焼成プロセス(ポスト熱処理固溶法)で合成したコアーシェル型触媒について、Pdイオンの状態をXAFSで解明した。ボールミルによるメカノケミカル反応で合成するコアーシェル型触媒に対しては、La(Fe, Pd)0_3系に関するPd K-edge, L_3-edgeのXAFS測定からPd固溶過程を追跡した結果、固相反応により得られる試料はPd^<2+>、Pd^<4+>の混合原子価であり、両イオンはB-siteに固溶することを明らかにした。 本研究項目の成果は, 誌上報告2件(アクセプト済み1件、投稿中1件)である。

    The deactivation mechanism of Pd/・-alumina catalysts for gas sensor by hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO) exposure has been investigated. The chemical state and local structure of Pd in the catalysts has been characterized under the reduction and oxidation conditions after HMDSO exposure by in situ X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) measurement. The Pd/・-alumina catalyst after HMDSO exposure hardly changed the chemical state of Pd even under the O2/N2atmosphere though it oxidized easily under the O2/N2atmosphere at the temperature of 300℃. This result shows thatthe Pd of the catalyst existed as the metal under the oxidizingcondition after the HMDSO exposure. It suggests that the contact between Pd site and gases was inhibited by the adsorption of the substance derived from HMDSO on the catalytic surface.

    It is reported that molecular hydrogen is a weak but selective scavenger against hydroxyl radicals. This study hypothesized that molecular hydrogen consumption after ingestion of hydrogen water reflects production of reactive oxygen species. We developed a new method to estimate hydroxyl radical production in the whole body by the mass-balance of ingested and exhaled hydrogen. We also developed a hydrogen sensor and evaluated for clinical use. Furthermore, we explored hydrogen-producing dietary foods and found that breath hydrogen originated from colonic fermentation significantly correlated with biological antioxidant potentials
