本年度も、コロナによって、ローマ・ラ・サピエンツァ大学、ハイデルベルグ大学、ライデン大学等に所蔵される中国近世の公文書・文物等について、現地に赴いての調査を実施することができなかった。また、国内においても、同様であった。そこで、各地の研究者とのオンラインでの交流会を複数回実施し、ネットワークを拡げ所蔵情報を収集すると同時に、また公開・販売されている目録類を閲覧することにつとめた。また、8月に「明清時代の公文書と文書行政」というタイトルのシンポジウムを主催した。荒木和憲（九州大学）、申斌（広東省社会科学院）、小島浩之（東京大学）の諸先生から、本課題を遂行する上で不可欠な、公文書と文書行政に関わる最新の成果を学ぶことができ、今後の課題遂行に大変有益であった。なお、内容を発展させる形で、このメンバーに加えて、東京大学の渡辺美季先生にも参加いただき、荒木先生が科研費を申請され採択されたことは、今後の研究進展に大きな意味があると考える。加えて、昨年度同様、18世紀オランダ東インド会社の遣清使節の代表として知られるIsaac Titsinghが残した日記に関して研究会を開催し、「清朝の八旗と緑営－ティチングの日記の理解のために－」と題して研究報告を行った。そして、松方冬子（東京大学）、森田由紀、大東敬典（東京大学）をはじめとする諸先生とともにIsaac Titsinghの日記の翻訳を進めた。同時に、大東先生から同日記に関わる最新成果であるTonio Andrade "The Last Embassy: The Dutch Mission of 1795 and the Forgotten History of Western Encounters with China”に関わるレクチャーを受けることもできた。これによってオランダでの資料調査に備えることができ、大変有意義であった。
壬辰戦争期、豊臣秀吉＝日本国王冊封のために贈られた明朝箚付・冠服類の総合的研究

本科研の初年目の2021年度は、7月には米沢市の上杉神社・伝国の杜で、1月には大阪市立大学で、研究代表者・分担者5名と研究協力者の参加のもとに資料調査と研究会を開催できた。前者では対面で、後者は対面とオンラインを併用して実施した。米沢では、上杉神社所蔵の景勝受贈の明朝箚付と冠服の重要文化財分割指定と明冠服類（紗帽・犀角帯・靴3点）の保存修理後初めての特別展示を閲覧調査し、当該資料についての認識を共有できたのは、今後の共同研究を進めるにあたり、好スタートとなった。研究会では、研究協力者で、特別展示を企画担当した上杉神社稽照殿学芸課長角屋由美子氏が「重要文化財の明冠服類（烏紗帽・犀角帶・靴3点）の保存修復について」と題して講演、分担研究者の佐藤琴が「上杉神社所蔵の明朝冠服の補子について―飛魚か斗牛か」の研究報告を行った。大阪では、今回文化庁等の支援を得て修復された紗帽・犀角帯・靴の修復作業を担当した京都の松鶴堂修理技術部染織担当課長の城山好美氏が「重要文化財の明冠服類の修理について」と題して講演、研究代表者の新宮学が「上杉神社所蔵景勝受贈の犀角帯の稀少価値について」の報告を行った。とりわけ国宝や重要文化財に指定された資料は、熟覧調査が制限されるため、実際に修理を担当した修理技術者者からの修理の実態についての詳細な報告は、とても有益なものとなった。また新宮の報告では、景勝の犀角帯とされた腰帯は、金具にすべて犀角片を嵌め込んでいることから、秀吉の頒賜品目録に見える「金箱犀角帯」と同様な稀少なものと判断されることを指摘した。

In this study, we investigated the collection of Chinese books and artifacts of the Imperial China, mainly in Italy, the Netherlands and Poland. In addition, in order to examine it in contrast, we investigated the Ming Dynasty's official documents and artifacts in Japan, and considered their origin and usage. And from these conclusions, it seems that intellectuals of early modern Europe might have acquired knowledge about the bureaucracy and the Civil Service Examination System of Premodern Chinese dynasty not only from reading the text, but also from visual things, It could be used as a stepping stone to the next study.

In this study, I added analysis about personnel system and the civil service examination mainly from three points in the early modern China.The first is a characteristic of the personnel system about gong sheng 貢生 Degrees in Ming dynasty and it's succession to personnel system of Qing Dynasty. Secondly,I analyzed how much stage juan na "捐納" and jia ji "加級" system of Qing were designed in the closing years of Ming Dynasty.Thirdly, I found in Leiden University one zhu juan 【石朱】巻 which was made in Qing, based on that I considered the custom of the civil service examination in Ming and Qing.

In this research, we conducted analysis into questions and answers for civil examinations during the Ming dynasty and scrutiny to the reputation and history of examiners at provincial civil examinations. Result from this analysis, we found tends to move away from imitation of model answers to emphasize the self-understanding (zi-de). From that scrutiny, we clarified the change in the trend to put candidates who stood first on the list of unsuccessful candidates of metropolitan civil examination (fu-bang ju-ren) in a key position until the middle of the Ming dynasty, but then, to respect local instructors in schools with a qualification of successful candidates (jin-shi), in a general tendency request of high quality for the examiner.

Ming Dynasty, on the basis of it, I clarified the following. The order of examiner who scoring the Civil Examination, the elements related to bureaucratic status and qualifications are applied very strict. The order plays an important role in scoring. The configuration of the clerk of the Civil Examination can be divided into four periods. It is had to change the system of the clerk for fraud prevention. In order to maintain the centripetal force of the regime, the government has changed the total number of successful candidates of the Civil Examination.

In this research, I collected lists of successful candidates by order of seniority in age (Tong-nian Chi-lu) edited in the Ming Dynasty. And I made a database for about 2,000 Jin-shi graduates.Based on it, I clarified the following. The person that pass order is low (about ten from the bottom) is discriminated against about a training institution/the finding employment time. An ancestral history is mentioned in those lists, and become the visible honor for a descendant.The examinee used two kinds of age (true age and age for examination) properly. In this research, we conducted quantitative/qualitative analysis into civil examination papers in the pre-modern China and showed several instances that both questions and answers reflected the social, political and philosophical topics at each period. In the case of Ming dynasty provincial and metropolitan civil examination, it increased that discourse questions had been made mainly from Great Collection of Works on Nature and Principle vol. 65-69 since the Jiajing period, and it also intensified that policy questions and answers had been aimed partially to conquer the mentality which followed the form of questions in Yuan dynasty policy essays on the mind and nature.

昨年同様、現在の明清官僚制研究における史料(とりわけ人事に関する一次史料)不足を補うために、大陸・台湾等の図書館に公蔵される「同年歯録」(科挙同年組名簿)を網羅的に収拾して全体像を把握することを継続的に行った。その内でも、「同年歯録」として『嘉靖丙辰同年世講録』『万暦三十八年庚戌科序歯録』(ともに台湾国家図書館所蔵)を集中的に分析した。その分析の過程で、観政進士制度について問題点を設定し、研究を行っている。この制度は明代洪武年間に創設され、明一代を通して「祖法」として継続された。また国家エリートたる進士にとって、その官歴のスタートに関わる制度でもある。しかしこれまでは、その実態は把握されず、誤解さえされてきた。また「同年歯録」は個人の観政履歴について情報を提供するが、それによると観政衙門の振り分け処理には一定の形式が存在した。そこにみられる機械的な振り分け形式は、マックス・ウェーバーが掲げた、「近代官僚制国家」とは異なる「官僚制的家産国家」としての中国、その見方では括りきれない中国官僚制の歴史的独自性、豊かさを示すものである。以上のことについて研究すると同時に、7月15日、京都大学で行われたCOE研究会(「東アジアにおける国際秩序と交流の歴史的研究」)において、明代人事制度小考-観政衙門振り分けの処理形式を中心に-というタイトルで発表を行った。
