    Abstract Various iron complexes 1, featuring silyl‐NHC chelate ligands (NHC = N‐heterocyclic carbene) were synthesized and investigated for their catalytic performance in the borylation reactions of olefins. Complexes 1 facilitated both hydroboration and dehydrogenative borylation of olefins with HBpin, yielding borylalkanes and borylalkenes, respectively. The selectivity between the two pathways was found to be governed by the steric effect of a substituent on one nitrogen atom of the NHC moiety. Possible catalytic mechanisms including hydroborato and β‐agostic‐alkyl complexes as potential resting states or intermediates are proposed based on stoichiometric reactions.

    Abstract Seven‐coordinate ruthenium complexes 1a and 1b, featuring silyl–2,2´‐bipyridine SiNN‐pincer ligands with i‐Pr and t‐Bu groups on Si, respectively, were synthesized. Their capped octahedral structures were revealed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction study. The stoichiometric reactions of 1a and 1b with styrene in THF afforded η2‐silylalkene chelate complexes. In contrast, performing the same reaction using 1a in C6D6 resulted in the liberation of deuterated styrene (PhDC═CD2), alongside the formation of a deuterated η2‐silylalkene complex. Complex 1a exhibited efficient catalytic activity for the triple deuteration of vinyl hydrogens in mono‐substituted olefins with C6D6 to afford RDC═CD2 (R = Ph, C6H4‐4‐OMe, t‐Bu) with high deuterium incorporation (92%–99%D).

    In this study, we developed metal complex catalysts bearing silicon-based ligands (silyl ligands), which were expected to enhance the reactivity of the metal centers. Specifically, to improve the activity of such complexes toward cleavage of chemical bonds, we designed and synthesized metal complexes supported by new silyl multidentate ligands possessing “high electron donating property” or “function to hold two metal centers”, and we also investigated their catalytic activity. Moreover, we succeeded in developing an iron catalyst for hydroboration of a C≡N triple bond of nitrile and an iridium catalyst for deuteration via cleavage of robust alkyl C-H bonds of a phosphorus compound.

    遷移金属錯体を触媒とした不活性結合(C-H結合など)の変換反応は,有機合成前駆体や材料として有用な化成品合成への利用価値が高いため,その開発研究が活発になされている。本研究では,研究代表者らのこれまでの研究実績に基づき,不活性結合変換能を持つ触媒として,シリル配位子部分を含む独自のピンサー配位子(シリルピンサー配位子)を有する錯体を対象とする。同錯体ではシリル配位子の効果(σ-供与性とトランス影響が共に大きい)により,金属中心の不活性結合に対する反応性が向上していると期待される。 期間内に,SiNNおよびSiCN型ピンサー配位子の開発と遷移金属(Ir, Rh, Ruなど)の錯体への誘導を行うとともに,同錯体を触媒としたC-HやC-D結合の変換反応(H/D交換,シリル化,ボリル化など)を検討し,新奇な反応や温和な条件下進行する高効率な反応の開発を目指す。

    金属-ケイ素結合を持つ遷移金属錯体は,有用化成品である有機ケイ素化合物を合成する触媒反応の鍵中間体であり,その反応性に関する研究は当該触媒反応の機構解明に有効であるだけでなく,金属-ケイ素錯体自身が当該反応に対して触媒活性を示す可能性がある。 本研究では,反応活性な金属-ケイ素錯体として,キサンテン骨格を含むビス(シリル)配位子(xantsil“キサントシル”)を持つ遷移金属錯体を対象とする。xantsil配位子は二つのケイ素と酸素(キサンテン骨格)で金属への三座配位が可能であり,その酸素配位子部分が置換活性であるため,当該錯体は配位不飽和な錯体の合成等価体として働く。期間内に,有機ケイ素化合物合成における錯体触媒に広く用いられている9および10族遷移元素を中心金属としたxantsil錯体を新たに合成し,その反応性および触媒活性を明らかにする。

    Reactivity and catalytic activity of η^3-α-silabenzyl complexes (molybdenum complex1 and tungsten complex 2) bearing a unique η^3-coordination of silicon and two aromatic carbons to the metal center were studied, and we obtained the following results. (1) Reactions of complexes 1,2 with organic molecules (alcohol, ketones, aldehydes, andalkenes) were examined, and we found that the reactions proceed through cleavage of metal-carbon bonds or a silicon-carbon bond of these complexes. (2) We also revealed that complex 1 shows catalytic activity for hydrosilylation of unsaturated organic molecules.

    We found that, with regard to the complexes having a double or triple bond between tungsten or ruthenium and silicon or germanium, reduction of the steric hindrance of substituents caused the dramatic enhancement of reactivity of the metal-Group 14 element unsaturated bond, and their reactions with various organic molecules proceeded smoothly. Especially, we clarified the reactivity of the tungsten-germanium triple bond toward organic molecules for the first time. We also demonstrated that η^3-α-silabenzyl tungsten and molybdenum complexes serve as the synthetic equivalents of both silylene complexes and coordinatively unsaturated complexes.

    遷移金属錯体は,均一系触媒として働き,医薬品や香料などの有機化合物の合成に広く利用されている。そのため,新しい触媒の開発を目指し,金属錯体の合成および反応性に関する活発な基礎研究が行われている。 当研究室では,ケイ素で金属に配位するシリル配位子(-SiR3)を持つ金属シリル錯体の合成およびその触媒活性について研究を行っている。これまでに,キレート型の多座シリル配位子(キサントシル配位子)を独自に開発し,その錯体の反応性について明らかにした。その結果,キサントシル配位子を持つ16電子ルテニウム(ホスフィン)錯体1を触媒としたフェニル基置換アルキンと第三級シランとの反応により,芳香環上にシリル基が導入された(E)-アルケンが選択的に得られることを明らかにした。本反応は,錯体1に特異な新しいヒドロシリル化反応である。 本研究では,ルテニウム(キサントシル)錯体1の触媒反応に関するこれまでの研究を発展させることを目的とし,前述のヒドロシリル化反応を触媒する,より高活性な新しいキサントシル錯体を開発する。

    As a development of a new hydrosilylation reaction catalyzed by a 16-electron bis(silyl)ruthenium complex A, in which phenyl-substituted alkyne reacts with tertiary silane to give (E)-alkene having a silylated aromatic group, we got the following results (1)-(3). (1)This reaction for various combinations of alkynes and silanes was investigated to elucidate the substituent effect of the substrates on the hydrosilylation. (2)Complex A was found to become a catalyst for hydroboration of an alkyne C≡C triple bond. (3)Related complexes having an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand instead of the phosphine ligand in A were synthesized. Comparison of their catalytic activity on the hydrosilylation revealed how the difference of the ligand influenced on the reactivity.

    申請者らは,ケイ素多座配位子を持つルテニウム錯体1を触媒としたフェニル基置換アセチレンと3級シランとの特異な反応(オルトシリル化反応)についての研究を発展させるとともに,錯体1を用いた新しい触媒反応の開発を目指して以下の研究を行った。 ① 錯体1を触媒としたオルトシリル化反応について,複数種類の置換基を持つ3級シランとフェニル基置換アセチレンの組み合わせに対して系統的な反応研究を行ない,当該反応の一般性について調査するとともにその置換基効果を明らかにした。今後,反応の一般性をより確実にし,その機構を解明するために,さらに広範な種類の基質に対して触媒反応を検討する予定である。 ② オルトシリル化反応生成物であるアルケン(E)-PhC(H)=C(H)(o-PhMe2SiC6H4)の単結晶を作成し,そのX線結晶構造解析に成功した。

    By a newly developed method, we succeeded in synthesizing the first hydrido (hydrosilylene) ruthenium complex. This complex reacted readily with aldehydes, nitriles, and alkyne to give agostic complexes selectively as primary products. These products are presumed to form through [2+2] cycloaddition between the Ru=Si bond and unsaturated bonds of the substrates followed by partial reductive elimination of the Si-H bond. The complex also reacted smoothly with enones, isocyanates, isothiocyanates, etc. to afford complexes with intriguing structures through [4+2] cycloaddition, hydride migration, C=S bond cleavage, etc. We also succeeded in the synthesis of base-free silyl (silylene) ruthenium complex, and revealed its structure and dynamic behavior. This complex is more reactive than the iron analogue, and addition of a strong Lewis base DMAP resulted in formation of a base-stabilized silyl (silylene) complex was converted to an unprecedented η^<4->sila-o-quinodimethane complex. Moreover, the reaction of the silyl (silylene) complex with alcohol surprisingly induced the substitution of all methyl groups on the silyl ligand with alkoxy groups to produce a trialkoxysilyl complex. We demonstrated that the tungsten complexes with an aryl ligand and a silylene ligand underwent 1, 2-aryl migration from the tungsten center to the silylene ligand through formation of η^<3->-silabenzyl complexes as intermediates. The coordinatively unsaturated silyl complexes generated by this migration reacted with nitriles to yield K^<2-> iminoacyl complexes through insertion of a nitrile molecule into the tungsten-silicon bond. The K^<2-> iminoacyl complexes further reacted with another molecule of nitrile to give five-membered metallacycles through ring expansion. By the reaction of a bis (phosphine) platinum complex with sterically congested tribromosilane in the presence of a reducing agent, we succeeded in synthesizing the first (bromosilylene) platinum complex. X-ray crystal structure analysis revealed that this complex has a very short platinum-silicon bond and a completely planar tricoordinate silicon. These facts clearly demonstrate the double bond character of the platinum-silicon boon. We also succeeded in derivation of this complex to a base-stabilized cationic silylyne complex.

    前周期遷移金属アリールチオラート錯体の系統的な合成を行い,さらに,得られた錯体に特異的な反応性を見出した。 (i) アリールチオールがジメチルシリル基で架橋した2座配位子{2-(S)-3-Ph-C6H3}2SiMe2を用いて、前周期遷移金属(チタン、ジルコニウムおよびバナジウム)錯体の合成を行った。 (ii) かさ高い2,6-ビス(トリメチルシリル)アリールチオラート配位子(SC6H3-2,6-(SiMe3)2:SAr)を有する,低配位のバナジウム(III)トリス(アリールチオラート)錯体V(SAr)3(thf) (1)を合成し,含窒素基質との反応性を明らかにした。錯体1はアゾベンゼン(PhN=NPh)の窒素間2重結合を還元的に切断し,バナジウム(V)イミド-スルフェナミド錯体V(NPh){N(Ph)SC6H3-2-CH2SiMe2-6-SiMe3}(SAr)を生成した。一方,1と1-アジドアダマンタン(AdN3)との反応では,窒素分子の発生を伴い,イミド錯体V(SAr)3(NAd)が高収率で得られた。 本研究で得られた成果は,前周期チオラート錯体の構造および反応性に関して新たな知見を与え,研究目的である,チオラート錯体による窒素分子の活性化を目指した研究の進展に貢献するものと期待される。
