    Although the regions are rich in natural resources, they face problems that cities do not have, such as a declining population, declining tax revenues, and an increasing burden of maintaining public infrastructure. On the other hand, recently, attention has been focused on DX (Digital Transformation), which utilizes digital technology to reform organizations, and several DX projects have been launched with the aim of solving regional issues. However, due to local restrictions and limited resources, those projects have often difficulties to execute and succeed compared to general business projects. Therefore, it is necessary to organize management knowledge in the launch and operation of local problem solving DX projects. The purpose of this research was aimed to consider how to apply P2M in the regional problem solving DX projects based on the comparison of each project, considering multiple existing regional problem solving DX projects as programs. This paper reports on the characteristics of the digital technology used in each project, the results of solving regional issues, the categorization of business models, and the results of organizing lessons learned.

    Manufacturing and production technologies are evolving, and customer demands are diversifying and be-coming more complex. There is concern that the efforts of mass production and cost reduction by compa-nies will eventually start to commoditize and lower prices of products, reduce the competitive advantage and profits of companies, and reduce the purchase and satisfaction of customers. In order to avoid such prob-lems in the life cycle of the manufacturing industry, there is a need for a paradigm shift to a manufacturing servitization that creates and provides value, not just manufacturing products. In this paper, using P2M profiling management as a framework, we presented a hypothesis of the value design process in a situation with high uncertainty that must be started from the search for goals, and considered the necessary manage-ment through verification based on the practice. As a result, this paper could show that this value design process is useful for general purposes to support companies that are starting to work on manufacturing services. Also, it could organize and present the ideas and points to keep in mind in their practice. This re-search is expected to contribute to the promotion of Japanese manufacturing services.

    Manufacturing and production technology continues to evolve. The market is saturated with products, and customer demands are diversifying and becoming more complex. There is concern that the competitive advantage and profits of companies will decline, and the purchasing and satisfaction of customers will also decline, as companies will eventually become more commoditized and lower in price just by making efforts to mass-produce, reduce costs, and improve performance. In order to avoid such problems, startups that create and provide new value are required. In this paper, in order to derive new value, the inference process was complemented in situations of high uncertainty in profiling management, which is the starting point of the program. As a result, it was possible to suppress the overweight of technology and experience, extract the requirements, restrictions, advantages, etc. of each stakeholder in the current situation in Japan, and show a scenario for designing a new product. Furthermore, the procedure of this research was presented as a profiling management process for creating value for both customers and companies. This research can be expected to contribute to the support of start-ups such as entrepreneurship and innovation creation within companies.

    Because of the high context culture, Japanese are good at succeeding tacit knowledge, but not good at uncovering organizational quality problems. The purpose of this research is to propose a new quality control system to make aware quality problems which could not be realized by the current quality control system and to guess what should be for the organization. First, the quality problems in the Japanese manufacturing industry reported in recent years were extracted and the trends of them were organized. Second, methods inherent in the organization that served as a base to continue quality improvement were found. Finally, a new quality control model was proposed using ethnographical approach. This study could contribute to the expansion of reliability of the manufacturing companies.

    This paper reports the potential problems of the work style of female engineers and men in companies and the solutions found through gendered innovations inside companies. Gendered innovations inside companies in this paper are defined as a method to improve management by discovering differences in the work and the working style due to the influence of gender. The practice of gendered innovations inside companies in technology based companies are effective as a part of strategic management of technology. This paper shows the approach to find implicit problems and solve explicitly by both of combining macro analysis using large scale survey and micro analysis using ethnography.

    The series will introduce methods and cases of applying ethnography to management of technology. The beginning paper of the series, shows the outline of the history and thought of cultural anthropology which is the root of ethnography. Ethnography is one of a method of extracting potential requirements and risks of end users. It would be an effective tool to enhance the competitive advantage. Technology continues to evolve, society becomes more complex, and management of technology is getting more important. This paper would be worth especially for manufacturing, BtoB business, and small and medium-sized contract enterprises which have excellent technology but they have not yet concentrated on the value creation.

    This paper focuses on the skills that would be advantageous for business persons in order to grasp the unconscious requirements of individuals. Knowing such requirements is imperative because it would substantially influence the design of a product, a service, and an organization. However, ordinary techniques and methods such as interviews and questionnaires are not enough to understand the unconscious behavior, attitudes, and habits of people.<BR>This paper introduces ethnographical ways of collecting and analyzing information in order to understand the nature of individuals. Combined with other techniques, ethnographical research would be a powerful tool to survive a competitive business world.

    In this paper, we discuss, focusing on the human-oriented system based on the organizational structure and its values, the potential risks that are difficult to identify in the field of information system operation and maintenance. First, we present a risk management method that incorporates the fieldwork methodology. Next, we compare how human actions and risks are related in two projects, drawing on the case in which we applied the risk management method. Findings suggest that behaviors and values that are taken for granted by the project members lead to potential risks in invisible manner. Consequently, we found that a third party fieldworker could bring risks and underlying causes to the surface and engaging stakeholders in collaborative problem solving, and bridge often isolated operation and maintenance projects.

    This research proposes an addition to PMBOK, which is effective for all project stakeholders to share the plan and the actual performance on an equal footing. What we propose to add is management to respond to the life cycle resulting from the technology existing outside the project life cycle and the evolution of requests. PMBOK-management-element-based analysis on what kind of management was done by a digital camera developing project before and after they became the top leader in the market. We empirically verified the relationship between the changes in the project market values and success/failure factors of the project management, and considered strategic management to respond to technology existing outside the project and the evolution of requests.

    It is difficult to keep the competitive advantage in digital technology development, because both of digital technology and market requirement change so rapidly. In addition, due to complicated dynamic chain of coevolution between technology and market, crossing over chasms which are big gaps between life stages becomes difficult.&lt;BR&gt;  For sustaining competitive advantage during life cycle in the digital technology, it is necessary to grasp critical factors which affect success or failure by life stages of technology life cycle.&lt;BR&gt;  As a solution for these issues, this article proposes the two quality management models by case studies of digital camera development and interview study. One quality management model is coevolution between development of digital technology and market, and the other is spiral type model of quality management to keep coevolution of technology and market.&lt;BR&gt;  Critical factors in each life stage are also extruded and classified.&lt;BR&gt;  These two models of quality management and critical factors are effective for implementation of strategic quality management and evolution of digital technology development and market.

    The product development in digital technology needs the different strategy, the Key Factor for Success and the project management method because it has the quite different conditions and environments from those in the past development. Even though a company can get over 'Valley of Death', 'Technology Destruction' and 'Chasm', he is always pressed by the problems as the cut of the lifecycle and cost with accelerated speed. As the digital camera is typical digital technology development, the interview study and analysis of the companies participating in Digital camera development was done due to phases of 'Technology Lifecycle'. The strategy, KFS and project management method are found to be different due to phases. Finaly, the common requirements, issues, solutions and optimum project management tmethod are shown..

    STEM students have different perceptions of SDGs and future social images depending on the country, and we conducted a questionnaire survey to clarify them. The same web questionnaire was conducted in 12 countries in order to collaborate with OECD, BRIICS, and Japanese universities to conduct a common measure of STEM student awareness surveys, and valid responses were obtained from approximately 1,500 nationals from 40 countries. Differences in awareness of SDGs by country, correlation between new ecological paradigm (NEP) and personality traits (EXACO, SDO, etc.), international comparison of NEP and SDGs, etc. were conducted. Face-to-face workshops on SDGs were held in Japan and the Netherlands, and students from various nationalities such as the Netherlands, Indonesia, and Japan participated in the web conference. At the workshop, we verified and created a prototype of education to each country that can develop global STEM human resources.
