    Uniform molybdenum (Mo) films were successfully deposited on nickel plates and foam substrates through electrochemical reduction in LiF-KF-KCl-K2MoO4-K2B4O7 melt at 900 °C. For Ni plates, uniform Mo film was achieved via pulse current electrolysis at an average/peak current density of 10/200 mA cm−2, under an electric charge of 72 C cm−2. As the applied charge increased, pulse reverse current electrolysis became essential to maintain the uniformity of the Mo film. For the Ni foam substrate, a series of comparisons of electrolysis parameters revealed that the use of pulse reverse electrolysis and an increase in the ratio of anodic dissolution in the electrolysis design help to increase the uniformity of the Mo film. This process required a careful balance of anodic dissolution in each cycle, ensuring even deposition under conditions of high electric charge density.
