    In this study, we focus on organic antiferromagnets to explore new material systems to study spintronics. In order to investigate heat conduction by magnons, which are magnetic excitations produced by antiferromagnetic ordering, we performed heat transport measurements in κ-(ET)2Cu[N(CN)2]Cl and β'-(ET)2ICl2. The results revealed the presence of heat conduction by antiferromagnetic magnons in both salts. This result is the first detection of a remarkable magnetothermal transport phenomenon in quasi-two-dimensional organic antiferromagnets, and indicates that organic magnets are promising material systems for antiferromagnetic spintronics.

    In this project, we demonstrate the bulk current-induced magnetization and study its mechanism. We performed the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) under an electric current for both right-handed and left-handed crystals of tellurium that has a chiral crystal structure with broken inversion symmetry. The magnetic-field-direction dependence and the carrier-density dependence of current-induced NMR shift provide the insight into the relation between the current-induced magnetization and a band structure.

    In this study I investigated the current-induced magnetization in elemental chalcogens with a chiral crystal structure, which does not have inversion symmetry. I measured the 125Te NMR spectra of a single crystal of p-type trigonal tellurium under an applied pulsed electric current parallel to both the c axis and an external magnetic field. I observed the current-induced shift of a 125Te-NMR spectrum depending on the strength and the polarity of an applied electric current. This is the first experimental result that captured the current-induced magnetization in bulk material. I also studied the pressure effect of the current-induced magnetization and revealed that orbital degrees of freedom due to the chiral crystal structure plays an important role in the current-induced magnetization of tellurium.
