Abstract Properly separating and subtracting renormalons in the framework of the op- erator product expansion (OPE) is a way to realize high precision computation of QCD effects in high energy physics. We propose a new method (FTRS method), which enables to subtract multiple renormalons simultaneously from a general observable. It utilizes a property of Fourier transform, and the leading Wilson coefficient is written in a one-parameter integral form whose integrand has suppressed (or vanishing) renormalons. The renormalon subtraction scheme coincides with the usual principal-value prescription at large orders. We perform test analyses and subtract the $$ \mathcal{O}\left({\Lambda}_{\mathrm{QCD } }^4\right) $$ renormalon from the Adler function, the $$ \mathcal{O}\left({\Lambda}_{\mathrm{QCD } }^2\right) $$ renormalon from the B → Xul$$ \overline{\nu} $$ decay width, and the $$ \mathcal{O} $$(ΛQCD) and $$ \mathcal{O}\left({\Lambda}_{\mathrm{QCD } }^2\right) $$ renormalons from the B, D meson masses. The analyses show good consistency with theoretical expectations, such as improved convergence and scale dependence. In particular we obtain $$ \overline{\Lambda} $$FTRS = 0.495 ± 0.053 GeV and ($$ {\mu}_{\pi}^2 $$)FTRS = −0.12 ± 0.23 GeV2 for the non-perturbative parameters of HQET. We explain the formulation and analyses in detail.

The total energy of a static quark-antiquark pair $E_{\rm tot}(r)=2m_{\rm<br /> pole}+V_{\rm QCD}(r)$ is known to be predictable up to ${\cal O}(\Lambda_{\rm<br /> QCD}^3 r^2)$ and ${\cal O}(\frac{\Lambda_{\rm QCD}^3}{\overline{m}^2})$<br /> renormalon uncertainties in the large-$\beta_0$ approximation, after canceling<br /> ${\cal O}(\Lambda_{\rm QCD})$ renormalons. We compute the predictable part<br /> (genuine UV part) in terms of the $\overline{\rm MS}$ mass $\overline{m}$,<br /> extending a recently-proposed method which conforms with OPE. In particular the<br /> $r$-independent part is determined. The result would help understanding the<br /> nature of $E_{\rm tot}(r)$ in the context of OPE with renormalon subtraction.

We determine the strong coupling constant $\alpha_s(M_Z)$ from the static QCD<br /> potential by matching a lattice result and a theoretical calculation. We use a<br /> new theoretical framework based on operator product expansion (OPE), where<br /> renormalons are subtracted from the leading Wilson coefficient. We find that<br /> our OPE prediction can explain the lattice data at $\Lambda_{\rm QCD} r<br /> \lesssim 0.8$. This allows us to use a larger window in matching, which leads<br /> to a more reliable determination. We obtain<br /> $\alpha_s(M_Z)=0.1179^{+0.0015}_{-0.0014}$.

We report on a study of top pair production at the International Linear<br /> Collider (ILC) around center of mass energy (E$_{\rm CM}$) = 350 GeV using an<br /> ILD detector simulator based on the Detailed Baseline Design (DBD)<br /> configuration. Here we will report on a result of 6-Jet final state, $t\ bar{t}<br /> \rightarrow bWbW \rightarrow bqqbqq$. A result for the 4-Jet final state, $t\<br /> bar{t} \rightarrow bWbW \rightarrow bqqbl\nu$, which has almost the same<br /> statics as that of the 6-Jet final state will be included in the future. For an<br /> energy scan of 11 center of mass energy points (340 - 350GeV) and two beam<br /> polarization combinations (P($e^+,\ e^-$) = ($\pm$0.3, $\mp$0.8)) with 10<br /> fb$^{-1}$ each, the statistical errors on the top quark Yukawa coupling, its<br /> mass and width are estimated. The results are $\delta y_t$ = 4.2%, $\delta m_t$<br /> = 16 MeV in potential subtracted scheme (PS), and $\delta \Gamma_t$ = 21 MeV.

The aim of this research is the study of CP violation and anomalous coupling on top-quark decay at CDF experiment. That will lead to the beyond the Standard Model and some knowledge about the baryogenesis of universe. The study on the mechanism of the top-quark production and decay is especially important since the CDF Run-II is expected to produce a lot of top-quark pair creation. We have developed a method applicable to top-quark semi-leptonic decay although the reconstruction of top-quark spin at hadron collider is not simple. That is called a sine-helicity method, which reconstructs the effective-spin of the top-quark. This method projects lepton direction to the top-quark helicity at top-quark rest system. We have confirmed that the angular distribution of top-quark decay is reproduced that from the polarized top-quark. We have suggested to apply this new top-quark effective-spin for the study of anomalous coupling at top-quark decay vertex. This method is more sensitive to the anomalous coupling than the familiar beam line base and off-diagonal base definition of top-quark spin axis. We have also studied a method using angular correlation between W-boson and a charged particle. We used a likely-method to analyze lepton+four jets events. We have also studied the sensitivity of Tevatron and LHC experiments. And we have gotten the conclusion that this mehod will be promising.

    1. Precise determination of the top quark mass may be made by measuring the cross section of the process e^+e^- → tt^^- near threshold. We find that theoretical error in the determination can be made small by using the <MS>^^^- mass instead of the pole mass as the parameter representing the top quark mass. 2. We examine the bottomonium spectrum using higher order perturbative QCD calculation and find that the theory reproduces the data quite well, in contrary to the belief that perturbation theory is not applicable. 3. We study the decay of the top squark in the mass region where the direct decay to the top quark is not kinematically allowed. We calculated the decay to a charm squark a neutralino via flavor-changing neutral current in the supergravity model by solving renormalization group equations. We show that this mode can be dominant when the parameter tan β is large. We further examine the case this mode competes with the charged current decay to a bottom squark and a chargino and propose a method to detect the top squark pair production events at hadron colliders 4. Definition of the mixing matrix is nontrivial at higher orders in perturbation theory. We examine the gauge dependence of the mixing matrix and explicitly calculated the correction in several examples. 5. It is known that the QCD correction for the decay of a Higgs boson to quarks and squarks is rather large. We find that a clever choice of the lowest-order parameter can reduce the size of the correction, leading to more reliable theoretical predictions.

1.We study three-body decays of charginos in supersymmetry and examine the dependence of the branching ratios on the mass of scalar quarks and leptons. We find that the ratio of electronic and tauonic branching ratio can have a large deviation from one if the chargino is gaugino-like. This measurement should be useful to obtain information on slepton masses and therefore a key to the mechanism of supersymmetry breaking. 2.In the gauge mediated scenario of supersymmetry breaking, superparticles eventually decay to a gravitino, which has a spin 3/2. We develop a formalism to calculate helicity amplitudes for processes containing spin 3/2 particles. Some decay processes with a gravitino in the initial or final state are calculated. 3.We develop a compute code which generates programs to calculate cross sections for superparticle production processes (with two or three body final states) in e^+e^- collisions. 4.We study the effect of final state interaction due to gluon exchange on the energy and angular distributions of final leptons in top production in e^+e^- collisions. The distributions change by ten percent due to this effect. We also calculate the second order correction to the QCD potential which is related to the top production process. We find that the result changes according to whether the renormalization group equation is solved in the momentum or the configuration space. This ambiguity gives a 6% error to the cross section. 5.We apply the N/D method developed for the strongly interacting Higgs sector to pipi scattering and find a result suggestive of the existence of the sigma meson.

We find that both total and three-jet rate have significant dependence on the spin of the particle. 2.We study the final state interaction in the reaction e^+e^-*W^+W^- in the presence of strong symmetry-breaking interactions. Two formulations of chiral Lagrangian and a model with a vector resonance are used. We find that the effect of a vector resonance mass up to 2,000-2,500 GeV may be detected at a linear collider of 500 GeV center-or-mass energy. 3.If the top quark mass is generated by an unknown strong interaction, we find that the effect of the interaction is visible in top pair production by photon-photon collisions at linear colliders. 4.The Bern-Kosower rule has been known only up to one-loop. We extend it to arbitrary number of loops in scalar quantum electrodynamics. 5.We construct a new set of equations for Green functions in scalar field theory. Un-like Schwinger-Dyson equations, the new equations form a closed set, which may be solvable with no approximation.
