    Abstract This study proposes a new approach to optimizing the routing of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in large-scale logistics warehouses using Quantum Annealing. As logistics operations grow, efficient AGV routing becomes critical for ensuring safety, reliability, and throughput, particularly in high-density environments. To address the complexity of real-world systems, we introduce an enhanced cost function that incorporates a real-time priority factor to improve both routing performance and operation safety. In this paper, we present a secure and computationally efficient candidate route generation method, along with an Optimization Problem Clustering technique that decomposes the large problem into smaller, tractable subproblems to reduce computational complexity. The proposed methods are designed to incorporate real-time operational data to ensure collision avoidance, maintain safe operations, and enhance routing efficiency in realistic large-scale warehouse environments. We validate the proposed methods using a state-of-the-art Quantum Annealing machine, benchmarking against both classical and quantum-inspired solvers. Integration with a commercial AGV Operating System (AOS) is demonstrated, enabling seamless connectivity with classical solvers via a local network and with Quantum Annealing and Quantum-inspired solvers via cloud infrastructure. Simulations involving 1000 AGVs show that the proposed route generation method reduces the number of optimization variables by an average of 96% for small-scale to medium-scale systems and 78% for large-scale systems, while also improving route quality. The clustering method reduces the maximum problem size to under 10,000 variables, enabling scalable and safe control of large AGV fleets. Furthermore, a complexity-based problem formulation reduces sampling time by approximately 28.2% compared to conventional size-based approaches for problems ranging from 1000 to 10,000 variables. These results demonstrate the practical viability of Quantum Annealing for managing large-scale AGV Operating Systems and underscore the potential of the proposed methods for advancing logistics optimization in real-world warehouse environments.

    We investigate the dependence of the maximum entropy method (MEM) reconstruction performance on the default model. The maximum entropy method is a reconstruction technique that utilizes prior information, referred to as the default model, to recover original signals from observed data, and it is widely used in underdetermined systems. The broad applications have been reported in fields ranging from the analysis of observational data in seismology and astronomy, to large-scale computations in quantum chemistry, and even in social sciences such as linguistics. However, a known drawback of MEM is that its results depend on the assumed default model. In this study, we employ the replica method to elucidate how discrepancies in the default model affect the reconstruction of signals with specific distributions. We report that for binary signals, even small discrepancies can induce phase transitions, leading to reconstruction failure. Additionally, by comparing MEM with reconstruction based on L 1 -norm regularization, a method proposed in recent years, we demonstrate that MEM exhibits lower reconstruction accuracy under certain conditions.

    Translation of binary-mixture particles composed of solid CO2 and graphite were observed in an area of static magnetic-field that monotonically decreased in one direction, and magnetic susceptibility χmix of individual particle was determined from the observed relationship between translating velocity and field intensity. Using the variance of χmix value, mixing ratio f of graphite was speedily estimated without consuming the particle; here published χ values of solid CO2 and graphite were used in the estimation, and mass measurement of particle was unnecessary. In the experiment, the translated particles were quietly released in an area of microgravity produced by a short shaft with a height of 180 m (duration&amp;lt; 0.5 s), and the magnetic field was supplied by a pair of small Nd magnetic plate. The detection of f was based on a principle which realized magnetic separation of ordinary diamagnetic and paramagnetic particles at low field intensity. The experimental results confirm the efficiency of the energy conservation law proposed for the field-induced translation at a reduced temperature of T∼200 K. By improving the present apparatus, binary-mixture particles can be magnetically separated according to the sequence of their f value, and a histogram of f is speedily obtained from the population of separated particles. Such histogram will provide direct information to estimate the formation process of the binary-mixture particles, especially in various onsite missions on the terrestrial surface as well in the outer solar system.

    グラフェンに代表されるような、原子が２次元的に整列した薄膜は一般に、２次元物質と呼ばれ広く研究されている。これまでの研究によってその物質群の多様性は多岐にわたり、また、さまざまな物理的性質が報告されている。さらに、異なる種類、物理的性質をもった２次元物質同士を重ねることでヘテロ積層系と呼ばれる人口結晶を合成することが可能であり、基礎・応用の両面で研究が進んでいる。 こうした流れを背景にして、近年、ねじれ積層系が脚光を浴びている。特にグラフェンを微小な角度をつけて重ねるだけで超伝導状態が発言することが報告されて以来、ねじれ積層系にまつわる基礎研究が盛んである。 さて、このねじれ積層系であるが、理論的視点から眺めてみると、微小角度での積層においてはモアレ模様という長周期構造が出現し、この構造に注目することで、超伝導の起源と思われるバンド構造などの電子状態が理解可能である。 しかし一方で、ねじれの角度が大きくなると、モアレ長周期は次第に存在しなくなり、最終的にはあらゆる周期性が消失した準結晶状態となる。これは結晶を重ねるだけで準結晶となる新しいタイプのものであり、ねじれ積層準結晶と呼ばれる。 本研究では、このねじれ積層準結晶の電子状態を理解すべく、30度ねじれグラフェンを舞台として、その理論的土台構築を試みた。特に本来準決勝では定義できないバンド構造に変わる擬バンド構造から出発し、光学特性や伝導、磁場中の状態を計算する方法などを提案した。
