Netherlandish art in the 15th century, especially Jan van Eyck's art, depicts not only symbolism and iconographic meaning, but also the movements and scenes of people who do not appear in the Bible. It became clear that the emotional expressions functioned in painting as an important factor. In order for these Dutch paintings to reach the recipients (consumers), the role of the art market becomes more important than ever before. The market in a broad sense based on social capital will restrain the freedom of the artist. On the other hand, however, competition has become a "place”that creates the greatest value of originality for modern artists. Giving an example from Rembrandt. The relationship between Rembrandt and the customer is sometimes hard to understand. They often clashed with each other. Nevertheless, even after the bankruptcy, Rembrandt continued to be involved in important work. The scandal was a testament to Rembrandt's habit and originality.

In the Western Countries studies of art market started in the 1980s and since then they have developed considerably. However, art market studies were the most retarded field of study in all genres of art historical studies. There were historical reasons for this. In the post-war period Japanese humanities have avoided the topics of "art and polytics/economy", but this has caused enormous lack of knowledge and understanding of the relation "art and economy". In the present study we have tried to introduce, assimilate research results of this field in the Western Countries, to undertake our own researches and to disseminate these studies in Japan. Our research results have attained our purposes in our publications and symposia.

Dutch 17th-century art with its hallmark, landscape painting and genre painting, make a sharp contrast with the Renaissance art with paintings depicting mythological or bibilical subjects. And so the meaning of "Dutchness"has been discussed in Dutch art literature. On the otherhand, Dutch economy basically depends on its global trade and many commodities including art works came to the Netherlands. In this kind of society domestic culture is always oscillateing around foreign cultures. "Dutchness" is not only a domestic question but an international one. In this research Dutch 17th-century art was reconsidered from the Asian viewpoint, and "Dutchness" was dicusssed in vairiou ways.

A still-life picture put in the last place in a classical art theory had an important role in Netherlands. It is discovery in the geography that began in Europe at the end of 15th century to have played a big role for the reevaluation. Identity crisis in Europa caused to happen by a great variety of things having flowed into Europe from New World. The reevaluation for the viewpoint of the ancient still-life happened to establish new identity. A religion images were prohibited by iconoclasm that swept over Netherlands in the late 16th century. The prohibition of the religious images did not let pictures decline and will multiply secular images. As a result, "still life" was produced a lot, and the fetishism was brought about. The "still life" in the Netherlands was promoted in particular by the prosperity with the Orient trade, and it was outstanding as representation of "the Netherlands", and expel the Old World such as Spain; it was revealed that performed a political function.

This research elucidates the mechanism of Stimmung (mood), that is neither subjective nor personal. It works really intersubjectively between not only person and person, but also man and nature, moreover rules the atmosphere of the place. We confirm that we can constitute new anthropology and aesthetics on the basis of the Stimmung. We find that at the time of German Enlightment appear many publications for empirical psychology and anthropology in prints. Reinhold and also Fichte constructed their philosophical systems against empirical psychology. We discovered in Schelling's philosophy and Hegel's philosophy common idea brought about the empirical psychology and anthropology. Our studies clalify deep realm of unconsciousness under the philosophical knowledge, which is the origin of our creative faculties.

The biggest results of research of "the Karel van Mander's Netherlandish "Lives" commentary" is completed. In the process of this translation study, our study clarified the following points.(1) Mander described history of Netherlandish paintings in 15, the 16th century, and, in"Schilder-Boeck," he used inventie (idea / originality), teyckenconst (line drawing art), wel verwen (coloring) on this occasion. (2) Mander wrote "Schilder-Boeck" independently, and, particularly, utilized a artistic theory on paintings of Venice, the chromatology which, in particular, was lectured on in "Aretino" of Lodovico Dolce in form to be opposed to "Lives" of Vasari. He reversed the essence and the relations of the essence and attribute, namely, sense of values of Vasari, was reversed,in teckenconst of Mander, while being strongly conscious of desegno of Vasari. Mander unified color in Venice and disegno of Florence, and drawing and color were tied to one with the painting. The most important element is a color downplayed as an attribute. (3)Paintings do notexist independently. The existence is prescribed by onlookers. In other words, the significances of the paintings are created in "between" paintings and collectors. In this study, historical view of Mander became clear and was able to open the new horizon for the studies of the Netherlandish paintings.

The purpose of this study is explore the various works by Rembrandt and another artists in his time. The domain that women managed, household was the small world, but it was not the dwarfish world. The women achieved the central role of seventeenth century Dutch genre painting. They are not evil women in the myth with a sacred woman either. They are the extremely ordinary women whom there is anywhere and painted lively. The seventeenth Dutch genre painting is superb in this point. The Dutch genre painting was freed from a role to explain religion and a myth and an allegory and is not pictured after life as they were, but made the human life by poetic imagination. The realism is the world that mind as the community produces and is the devices for people constituting a community to be able to receive specific reality. As a result, painting become the fiction which paints what is not in reality. Therefore, The meaning of an expressed image is not the thing which I can explain by the document texts such as the Bible and a myth or the fable throughout. In other words, it is expressed in the form that the mind (ethnicity, an ideology, the political nature, economy, social nature, gender) of the community is visible in painting. Therefore, "Dutchness" was expressed in the painting the trifling scene of everyday life that citizen became the leading role was painted.

The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of Rembrandt's collection, the process of it's formation, and the extent to which the prints of Lucas van Leyden and Pieter Bruegel the elder(including the prints after him), which Rembrandt collected enthusiastically, exerted an influence upon the artist. Through exploration of his collection, furthermore, the argument is made that Rembrandt's purview exceeded the borders of Europe to include the visual material of East Asia. The author does not attempt to consider Rembrandt's collection as the systematic reflection of a unified concept, universal or encyclopedic in character, but rather to conceptualize it as a historical phenomenon. HIs collection is self-reflective, much like his self-portraits, and therefore proves to be one of the most fertile areas for aesthetic exploration of the Dutch seventeenth century.

Painters of Netherlands had a studio more or less and made production of paintings and Education of pupils. The ambitious studio, which is the most important inside, is a that of Rubens. An ideal method of the studio gave big influence to Rembrandt. He lived with Antwerp after return home from ltaly and established a large-scaled studio there. He declined a count painter of Albert grand duke and princess Isabera which were those days, a ruler of Flanders, and he was peculiar in the point that was able to be active from control of painter association of a town freely, compared with another studios manager to it. As a result I released it from the agony of the thing which turned authority of the Imperial Court into a back, Rubens avoided limitation of sale of painter's association and he acquired a right to sell them. There was not an example by this, and the technique of picture productions of Rubens was unique. In other words, even if he was a work finished by one oneself or did not receive a difference in the selling price only by a design. Rubens was able to take a way that many works were judged by a high price by doing it in this way. Rembrandt receive influence from sale strategy of such Rubens, and it is Rembrandt that burnt a hot spirit of rivalry. He acquired an advatage of picturing market strategy in a way of a studio of this Rubens that is a name of a painter as a kind of brand name. It is possible for Rembrandt to have been the greatest understanding person of Rubens in this. sense.
